Butler County Cross Country 2019

The Butler County Cross Country team has been running strong during this 2019 season.  Runners have traveled to the Twilight Run at Warren East, the Gatorland Run at Greenwood, the SKY Conference in Bowling Green and the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro.

On Saturday, October 12th, The Butler County Middle School Bears traveled to Hart County to face off against the Raiders in Round #1 of the 8th Grade Football State Playoffs. After a strong start and a halftime score of 12-8, the tides turned, and the Hart County Raiders were able to pull off a win. The Bears fell to the Raiders 12-28. This game concluded the season for BCMS Football. "I am very proud of the way both 7th and 8th-grade teams performed throughout the year. I couldn't be prouder to coach such a coachable group of young men.

It was a hot and sweaty race, but our runners rocked! Several awards and PR's. So proud of them all.

Congratulations to Autumn Jenkins for earning 10th place Varsity girl medal.


BCHS Lady Bears Volleyball 2019

Last week was a tough one for the Butler County High School Volleyball team as they lost to Todd County at home on Monday and to Grayson on the road Thursday.  The junior varsity took out Todd County in straight sets, 21-1 and 21-15.  Yes that first set is correct, 21-1.


Jordan Green Competes In 2019 ITU Triathlon World Championships

Lausanne, Switzerland played host to the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Championships and representing USA was local triathlete Jordan Green. The best age group triathletes in the world gather each year at the grand finale to compete for the world championship at stake.


From The Sidelines... Butler Co. vs. Hancock Co.

In week 6 of 'From the Sidelines...', Butler County hosted Hancock County Friday night under the lights. The Bears were #armystrong for National Guard Night.


BCMS Softball squads both record winning seasons

The Butler County Middle School softball team recently finished up their regular season with a win on the road at Bowling Green earlier this week.  With that win, the BCMS "A" team finished the regular season with a 19-7-2 overall record, surpassing last year's successful 18-win season.   The Bears head to Owensboro on Friday, September 27, for a double-elimination end-of-season state tournament (Regions 1-4) at Panther Creek Park.  Butler will face Allen County-Scottsville in the opening round.  


Butler County Volleyball

Last week the girls’ volleyball team only played one game, Thursday at Whitesville Trinity.  It was a rough trip for the Lady Bears as they lost all three games, freshman, junior varsity, and varsity, in straight sets.  The freshman team has shown improvement despite the loss.  Nine of the eleven players will have the opportunity to play on the first middle school team Butle

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. -- Coming off an eighth-place finish in their last tournament, the Midway women's golf team continued their strong start to the season by taking runner-up at the Bryan College Invitational at the Cumberland Bear Trace in Crossville, Tennessee.

The Eagles took a two-shot lead into the final round after carding a 335 in the opening round on Monday, but after shooting a 361 on Tuesday, the Eagles fell to second place with a two-round total of a 696.


Bears come up short at McLean; focus now turns to Hancock on Friday

Despite an early 8-7 first quarter lead on Friday night, Butler County struggled to stop McLean County’s strong running game, losing 55-32 on the road at Calhoun.
