GREENVILLE — Muhlenberg County prevented Butler County from returning to the win column, shutting out the Lady Bears 3-0 in a 12th District volleyball match on Monday, Aug. 25.

Muhlenberg County won 25-21, 25-15, 25-21. However, Butler County pushed Muhlenberg County for most of the 12th District match.

Nine different players took the court for the Lady Bears. Madison Jones (1 block, 8 assists, 16 digs), Evana Martin (1 kill, 1 block, 1 assist, 1 dig, 1 service ace), Jenelle Kimmel (5 kills, 3 blocks), Miley Franzell (4 kills, 1 block, 5 digs), Emmie Hawkins (2 kills, 1 block, 1 dig), Megan Clark (4 kills, 1 assist, 6 digs, 3 service aces), Samantha Johnson (1 kill, 10 digs, 1 service ace), Lily Glass (1 dig, 1 service ace) and Delaney Newcom each contributed for Butler County during the 12th District match.  

Butler County is scheduled to host Whitesville Trinity for a 12th District match on Thursday, Aug. 28.
