HS FOOTBALL: Bears to host Ohio County for home opener
MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to host Ohio County for its home opener in the 2025 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 29.
The Bears have registered five straight wins over the Eagles. Butler County beat Ohio County 21-7 in a 2024 season finale.
Butler County is 1-0 in the 2025 high school football season. The Bears beat Breckinridge County 42-30 in a season opener on Friday, Aug. 22.
Butler County amassed 507 yards of total offense in its victory over Breckinridge County. Quarterback Brody Dockery led Butler County through the air in the season opener, completing 10 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Emerging as Butler County's leading receiver, Carson Davis hauled in eight receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
Butler County rushed 28 times for 317 yards and four touchdowns in its 2025 debut. Kaiden Richardson paced Butler County on the ground, rushing 10 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Finishing second to Richardson in the key category, Kevin Robins rushed 12 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Showing his versatility, Dockery added 61 rushing yards via six carries in the same game.
Defensively for Butler County in the season opener, Kevin Robins recorded 11 tackles.

Ohio County is 0-1 after suffering a lopsided loss in its season opener. Trigg County rolled past Ohio County 54-0 in the Wildcat Chevrolet Bowl on Friday, Aug. 22.

Butler County has additional regular season games remaining versus Todd County Central, Grayson County, LaRue County, Edmonson County, Glasgow, Hart County, Adair County and Russellville.
Ohio County has additional regular season games remaining versus Hancock County, Muhlenberg County, Warren Central, Webster County, Grayson County, Holmes, Thomas Nelson and McLean County.
