Bears beat Ohio County in home debut; move to 2-0 on the season

MORGANTOWN — Continuing to win, Butler County defeated Ohio County 28-19 in its home opener on Friday, Aug. 29.
Butler County moved to 2-0 after registering the win. With the loss, Ohio County slipped to 0-2. Butler County and Ohio County met for a non-district matchup. 
 
The Bears and Eagles were tied 7-7 midway through the game and at the conclusion of the third quarter. Finishing strong, Butler County outscored Ohio County 21-12 in the fourth quarter to claim the win.
 
For the second straight week, Butler County benefitted from a diverse offensive attack.
Producing through the air in Butler County's winning effort, quarterback Brody Dockery completed a touchdown pass to receiver Cainan Vincent. 
 
Multiple players reached the endzone via the ground for Class 3A, District 2 member Butler County. Kevin Robins delivered two rushing touchdowns for the Bears. Aiding Butler County on the ground, Kaiden Richardson supplied one rushing touchdown. Robins and Richardson are forming a talented rushing duo for Butler County in the 2025 high school football season. 
 
Butler County is scheduled to host Todd County Central for its next game at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, which will also b Homecoming Night for BCHS.
