Lady Bears shut out Hart County in season opener

MORGANTOWN — Starting strong, Butler County shut out visiting Hart County 2-0 in a high school volleyball season opener on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

The Lady Bears outlasted Hart County 29-27 in the first set. Then, Butler County beat Hart County 25-23 in the second set to win the match.
Butler County showed improvement during the match, which featured numerous lead changes.

The Lady Bears are back on the court after finishing with a 4-30 record in the 2024 high school volleyball season.
JV followed with a great effort but fell short 17-21 abd 11-21.
Freshmen team closed out the night earning the win in two sets (21-18, 21-9)
Butler County's roster features the following players: Megan Clark, Miley Franzell, Lily Glass, Emmie Hawkins, Paisley Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Madison Jones, Jenelle Kimmel, Evana Martin, Delaney Newcom and Kyra Webster.
Head coach Kevin Harrod and assistant Ryan Hancock is guiding Butler County in the 2025 high school volleyball season. Butler County is scheduled to host Grayson County for a 12th District match at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.
