MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to host a holiday event. The Hebrews 12 Coffee Christmas Classic is slated for Friday-Saturday at Butler County High School.
BCMS Head Coach Wes Jones and Assistant Coach Jesse Hudson were rewarded with another first-place finish in the Middle School Division at the Russellville Tournament on Saturday. The middle school team scored 3209 points, not their best, but good enough to win. The coaches had a very long day with over twenty teams competing.

Bears knock off Apollo, 64-51
OWENSBORO - Parker Rice delivered a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Butler County over host Apollo 64-51 in a boys' high school basketball game on Monday night.
With the win, Butler County moved to 4-0.
Apollo dropped to 0-6 with the loss.

MORGANTOWN - Host Butler County fell behind and couldn't battle back as rival Edmonson County pulled away to win 56-47 in overtime in a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday.
Edmonson County overcame shooting 27.9 percent (17-of-61) from the field to notch the win. The Lady Cats managed to shoot 72 percent (18-of-25) from the free throw line.
Lauren Ballance (15 points), Emma Rose Vincent (12 points, 12 rebounds), Katie Lindsey (11 points) and Macie McCombs (11 points) combined to lead the Lady Cats to the victory in the extra period.
Amy Gill, Butler County High School golf coach, is looking forward to the next few years of golfing success. Gill and coach Kenny Swift have two fifth graders and two sixth graders who practice with the young team.
