LEITCHFIELD - Returning to the top, Butler County defeated longtime rival Grayson County 63-51 in the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament title game on Friday night.
Butler County Middle School Volleyball team was in action last Thursday. They lost to St. Romauld in straight sets but played really good fundamental volleyball. The girls continue to improve with every game. On Tuesday they traveled to Hancock Co. This is Hancock's first year to have a Middle school team as well. BCMS 6th, 7th and 8th grades won in straight sets against Hancock. 6th grade won 21-11 and 21-12 thanks in part to great serving by Shay Oaks and Megan Parker.
LEITCHFIELD - Butler County passed its first postseason test on Tuesday night, beating familiar foe Whitesville Trinity 64-57 in the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals at Grayson County High School.
LEITCHFIELD - Visiting Butler County fell behind and couldn't battle back as Grayson County won 66-50 in the 12th District Girls' Basketball Tournament Semifinals on Monday night.
CLOVERPORT - Claiming its third straight win, visiting Butler County upended Cloverport 60-51 in a girls' high school basketball regular-season finale on Thursday night.
MORGANTOWN - Butler County is slated to meet longtime rival Whitesville Trinity in the semifinals of the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament at Grayson County High School at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
After compiling a 5-1 record in the 12th District, Butler County is the top seed heading into the tournament. The Bears swept a pair of games from Whitesville Trinity during the regular season.
MORGANTOWN - Butler County will face host Grayson County in the semifinals of 12th District Girls' Basketball Tournament at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24.
Grayson County High School will host the entire 12th District Girls' Basketball Tournament.
The BCMS Archery team and coaches loaded the bus and were followed by family and friends to Breckinridge County Middle School for the Region 3 Tournament.
