Wesley Jones was recently named the head archery coach at Butler County High School.  He began working with archery at North Butler Elementary during the 2015-16 school year.

Kayla Meredith has accepted the position as the new Butler County Lady Bears' Golf Team Head Coach. Kayla is a graduate of Midway University where she was a member of the Lady Eagles golf team.

Butler County Rescue Squad recently installed mile markers on the 58-mile stretch of the Green River that meanders through Butler County. These markers will help kayakers , fishermen  and boaters know what part of the river they are on and they can reference them if assistance is needed.

On Tuesday, April 21, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) announced that they were cancelling the remainder of the 2020 spring sports season as well as the girls and boys Sweet 16 basketball tournaments. According to a press release from the KHSAA, this comes on the heels of an announcement of the closure of all K-12 schools to in-person instruction throughout Kentucky for the remainder of the school year.

This is being sent to all KHSAA constituents including guidance from the Governor, Public Health Officials and the Kentucky Department of Education.

Bluegrass Oral Health presents Butler County High School and Butler County Middle School Archers,

The Bears are the Class AA Indoor State Track & Field Champions for the first time in school history. Butler County blew out the field Saturday at the Mason County Indoor Track & Field Complex. The Bears totaled 87 points, beating State runner-up Rockcastle County by more than 20 points.

OWENSBORO - Butler County will meet Owensboro Catholic in the opening game of the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Tournament at the Owensboro Sportscenter at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
