Roger Lee Embry

Roger Lee Embry, age 59 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his residence. Roger was born on Sunday, September 30, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Jim Embry and Jerlene Johnson Wilkerson who survives. He was a retired construction worker, mechanic and just a jack of all trades. Roger enjoyed working on small engines, had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He loved spending time with his family. Other than his father he is preceded in death by two brothers Justin Embry, his twin brother Roy Embry and one grandson Brody Embry.

Johnny Darrell Hatcher

Johnny Darrell Hatcher, age 75, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.   He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Sept. 1, 1946 to the late Jewell and Catherine House Hatcher.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Holley Carburetors after 40 years.  Darrell was an avid UK fan and enjoyed watching westerns.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Juanita Smith Hatcher; brothers David, Donald (Opal), Jerry (Barbara) and Charles Hatcher.

Wilma “Ruth” Hillard Wilson

Wilma “Ruth” Hillard Wilson, 78, of McHenry, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Ohio County Hospital. She was born May 29, 1943 in McHenry to the late Harvey E. Hillard and Lucille Goodall Hillard. Ruth retired from St. Vincent DePaul and was a faithful member of McHenry Baptist Church for sixty-five years.

Philip D. Shumway

Philip D. Shumway, age 72 formerly of 4351 North State Route 53, Tiffin, Ohio died at 3:33 P.M., Sunday, November 7, 2021 after a sixteen year battle with Alzheimers. He passed away at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on December 22,1948 in Tiffin, Ohio to Robert and Jimmie (Arthur) Shumway. He first married Margaret (Yaney) Shumway and they later divorced. He then married Gladys (Scott) Clouse-Shumway and she survives in rural Tiffin, Ohio.

Chester A. Taylor

Chester A. Taylor, age 94 of Welches Creek, KY passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Chester was born on Wednesday January 26, 1927 in the Casey Community of Butler County, KY to the late Roscoe and Elfie Flener Taylor and husband of 59 years to the late Abilene Lacefield Taylor. He was a member of Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church and attended Belmont General Baptist Church for the past 10 years. Chester was a World War II Army Veteran serving from 1945 - 1946, he was stationed in Japan and Germany for 13 months.

Wanda Embry Grise, 88 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Rockfield, Kentucky.

She was born Sunday, September 17, 1933, the daughter of the late David B. Embry and the late Flora Phelps Embry. She was the wife of the late Drexel Dale Grise.

She was a housewife and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Emmit "Pete" Henderson

Emmit "Pete" Henderson, age 76 of Morgantown, KY passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. Pete was born on Saturday, June 30, 1945 in Butler County, KY to the late Chester and Pauline Embry Henderson. He was the owner and operator of Henderson Drywall and loved his cat Baby. Pete also loved old cars and hotrods. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR , working in the yard and tinkering with anything. He is preceded in death by one daughter Kitty Henderson; four brothers Jerry, Bimbo, Kenny and R.C.

Lisa Diann Southard Mendoza

Lisa Diann Southard Mendoza, 59, of Hanson, KY, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. She was born May 8, 1962, in Bowling Green, KY, to the late Charles "Pete" Owen Southard and Ella Rone Southard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pedro "Pete" Mendoza.

Lisa was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She adored her grandchildren. She will be remembered for the love of her family and friends and the time they shared together. She was an avid supporter of Landon's Hope.

Charlene Johnson Smith

Charlene Johnson Smith, age 69 of Morgantown Ky., passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville TN. Charlene was born on November 26, 1951 in Louisville, Ky. to the late Charles O. and Imogene Childers Johnson. She was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church, where she served as clerk/treasurer for many years. Charlene retired from the Butler County Board of Education after many years as a teacher and as Principal of 4th District Elementary.
