Deyoide A. Evans, 88, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on April 5, 1935, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Carl and Louie (Abner) Evans. Deyoide was retired from Butler County Board of Education having worked as a bus driver and bus mechanic. After retirement, he spent time farming and being a stay at home Grandpa. He was a member of New Gasper Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. Deyoide was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Novella Kate Lee Evans, one daughter, Rita Faye Evans Mastin, as well as his parents, brothers, JC Evans, Deloide Evans and sister Kathleen Evans.

Deyoide is survived by granddaughter Beth Embry, whom he and Novella raised following the death of Beth's mother, and husband John of Aberdeen; great-grandchildren Isabella Faye Embry and Will Lincoln Embry; a sister Irene Givens, of Morgantown, KY; a sister in law Sue Evans of Morgantown, KY; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 5:00pm with Bro. Derrick Benton officiating. Private burial will be in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 2:00pm until funeral time at 5:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International P.O.
