Martha Sue Burden, age 79 of Morgantown, KY passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Monday, February 5, 2024 at her residence. Sue was born on Sunday, July 9, 1944 in Louisville, KY to the union of the late Ernest Franklin and Gladys Mae Cook Scott and wife of the late Jondal Tony Burden. Sue was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her yard and watching Westerns. She was very loved and cherished. Although she never had children of her own, she was like a mother to all. Other than her parents and husband, Sue is preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Carl Scott and three sisters Julie "Judy" Ann Johnson, Norma Faye Gambrell and Shirley Mae Scott.

Sue is survived by one brother, Alvie "Buster" Scott of Morgantown, KY; one sister, Barbara Jones of Morgantown, KY; two nieces, Natasha Wynn (Charlie) and Lauren Elkins (Austin) and three nephews Michael Scott, Christopher Scott and Johnny Taylor Jr..

A graveside service and burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Aberdeen Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
