Cherley "Don" Baker

Cherley "Don" Baker, 68, of Morgantown Ky. passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at his residence.  He was born in Butler County on May 1, 1949, to the late Dempsey and Lena Lee Baker.  Don was a loving husband and father. He served in the US Marines during Vietnam.  Don was a lifetime member of the VFW.  He owned and operated Cousin Don's Furniture and Appliance Store for 35 years.

David Eugene Tuck, 75 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. David was born April 11, 1942, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Marjorie Wells Kessinger and was the husband of the late Christine Dockery Tuck.  He was a member of Local 502 Pipe Fitters & Plumbers. Other than his mother and wife he is preceded in death by one stepdaughter Sue Johnson and two stepsons Wendell and Bobby Gene Embry

Plina Phelps Johnson, 68, of Roundhill, KY, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Plina was born February 22, 1949, in Butler Co. KY, to the late Ebon and Lena Whittinghill Phelps. She was retired from Delta Faucet. Other than her parents, Plina is preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Johnson, two sons; William Afton Beaven and William James Beaven and two brothers; R.C. Phelps and Ebon Phelps Jr.

Wrinda (Beasley) Tucker

Wrinda (Beasley) Tucker, 88, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, January 21st, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Friday, August 16th, 1929 in Butler County, the daughter of the late Hershel and Dolly Mae (Bratcher) Beasley. Wrinda was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. She began working for the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company on July 26th, 1954 and retired on February 1st, 1985. She also loved to can and enjoyed being outdoors.

James W. Sorrels, 82 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Alive Hospice at TriStar Skyline in Madison TN. James was born March 5, 1935, in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Cecil and Edna Mae Rogers Sorrels and husband of the late Vennie Faye Dockery Sorrels. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the steel mill. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Aubrey Latney Ragland

Aubrey Latney Ragland, 92 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Latney was born August 10, 1925, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Aubrey and Lucy Adeline Lee Ragland and husband of the late Ruth Webster Ragland. He spent a lifetime of farming and was a grade A dairy farmer. He enjoyed many years of crop farming and raising cattle. He was a World War II Army Veteran stationed in Hawaii where he served as a military policeman. Latney received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Lindon C. Kessinger

Lindon C. Kessinger, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 13, 2018) at his home.
He was born on October 21, 1937 in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Odie and Sylvia Lacefield Kessinger.
He was a building contractor and a loving husband and father, who enjoyed running marathons, skiing and riding his bicycle. He was a pioneer and a ministerial assistant with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
