BCMS FOOTBALL: Bears battle Ohio, Daviess

On Tuesday, August 20th, the BCMS Bears hosted the Ohio County Middle School Eagles. BCMS Coach Kory Johnson encouraged players and parents to fill the stadium and that’s exactly what happened. The Bears' Den was full of spectators as both squads shut out the Eagles.

Butler County Cross County

Butler County Cross Country started the season off right. The varsity Bears traveled to Owensboro to compete in the Kentucky-Indiana Boarder Clash on Tuesday, August 20th.  Ryder Harbaugh medaled.

On Saturday the elementary, middle school and high school competed in the Twilight Run at Ephraim White Park. Over 30 runners competed.

BCHS Girls Soccer: Butler County falls to Grayson County in district match

MORGANTOWN — Butler County was limited offensively as Grayson County pulled away to win 10-2 in an 11th District girls' soccer match on Thursday, Aug. 22. 
As a result of the loss, Butler County dropped to 0-4-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the 11th District.

BCHS Football: Bears drop season opener

RUSSELLVILLE — Butler County faltered in the second half as Logan County pulled away to win 44-13 in a high school football season opener on Friday, Aug. 23. 

The Bears and Cougars were tied 7-7 at the conclusion of the opening quarter.

Butler County and Logan County entered halftime tied 13-13 but the Cougars managed to pull away.

Logan County led 27-13 at the end of the third quarter.

BCHS Volleyball: Lady Bears open 2024 season

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is competing in the 2024 high school volleyball season. The Lady Bears dropped matches to Warren Central, Ohio County and Edmonson County during the first week of the 2024 high school volleyball season, which opened on Monday, Aug. 19.

MORGANTOWN — Butler County senior forward Lawson Rice announced his commitment to the Western Kentucky University men's basketball program today.

HS FOOTBALL PREVIEW: BCHS Bears 2024

The Butler County Bears' varsity football program 2024 takes on a new look in coaching staff, and players.  BCHS Football has a history of fifty-nine years of high school football. The program began in 1966 and played all games at the old football game field behind Morgantown Elementary School from 1966-1996.
