Jenna Phelps Among Midway student-athletes named to Athletic Director's Honor Roll

MIDWAY, Ky. - It was another highly successful spring semester in the classroom for Midway student-athletes, with 460 earning a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

TOP TERRAPIN: Abbott Givens takes top spot in annual GRCF Terrapin Race

Nearly 200 terrapins descended on the BCHS Softball field on Thursday morning to participate in the annual Green River Catfish Festival Terrapin.  The races is organized and sponsored by Cassia Lodge #272 F&AM, along with sponsors Jones Funeral Chapel and Monument Company, P31, Henderson Landy Surveying, WarrenRECC, BC Shrine Club, Drakes Farm Service, and Beech Tree News.

36 tagged catfish caught in annual GRCF Fishing Tournament

Several of the fishermen who caught tagged catfish.

A total of 36 tagged fish were caught over the weekend at the annual Green River Catfish Festival (GRCF) Fishing Tournament.  The Fishermans' Dinner took place shortly after 6 p.m. on the banks of the Green River at the J. Guy Cook Boat Ramp in Morgantown.  Hundreds of anglers took part in the 3-day event. There were 139 tagged fish released into the river last week.

Ogden sets School Record

 Sophomore Layla Ogden, at South Warren High School Lady Spartan softball, set a new single-season record for Most Wins in a Season. Former Spartan and former WKU ace Shelby Nunn held the previous school record.

BC Trap Team 2nd Place in the State

The Butler County High School Trap Team ended their spring season in  an impressive 2nd place in the state. What’s more, only one target separated them from the state champions with first place receiving a score of 491/500 and the Bears in second with a score of 490/500. Other notable awards for the day were earned including Mason Johnson becoming the Kentucky High School State Champion! He won high over all and was the highest male scorer with a perfect score!

Butler County boys' track and field team finishes 18th in state meet
