Beech Tree News presents: "Bears Spotlight" Ty Price

Ty is the starting point guard for the 12th district championship and 3rd region championship basketball team. He helped lead his team to an undefeated season against 3rd region opponents this year. He is a junior at BCHS and the son of the late Mike and the late Laura Price.Ty was born and raised in the Sugar Grove community of Butler County. Ty’s mom, Laura, passed away when he was six years old. Ty’s dad, Mike, raised him until his death in 2021. In August 2022, Ty lost his older brother, Lauren, to cancer.

Beech Tree News presents: "Bears Spotlight" Case Hooten

Case is a guard for the 12th district championship and 3rd region championship basketball team. He is a junior at BCHS and the son of Bobbie Hooten and Amy Hood Waddle. Case lives in the Logansport community of Butler County.Case began playing basketball as a preschooler in the Upward Basketball program.  He continued playing all through elementary school in the Butler County Junior Pro league. In middle school, he was a part of the 6th, 7th and 8th grade GRVC championship team and was a part of an undefeated season his 8th grade season.

SCOUTING REPORT: Evangel Christian Academy High School

The Butler County Bears, Region 3 champion, will take on Region 6 champion Evangel Christian Academy Eagles in the first round of the KHSAA Sweet 16 Boys Basketball State tournament on Thursday, March 21 The game will be broadcast live on WLBQ.

He is a junior at BCHS and the son of R.B. Griffin and Ashley Flint. Briar resides in southern Butler County.

Clayton is a 6’0” guard for the 12th district championship and 3rd region championship basketball team. He is a junior at BCHS and the son of Darrell and Amy Deweese. The Deweese family resides in the Leonard Oak community of Butler County.

According to the NASP Archery website, Morgantown Elementary School is ranked 7th out of 175 teams in KY for top team score. MES also has the #1 ranked female elementary archer in the State with a 285...Ms. Delaney Ryan.Congratulations on the following awards at the MSMS Sun Tournament in Muhlenberg on March 16, 2024.

BCHS Baseball: Bears roll past Hornets in five innings

MORGANTOWN — Making a strong first impression, Butler County rolled past 4th Region member Metcalfe County 12-1 in five innings in a high school baseball season opener on Thursday, March 14.
The Bears, under the direction of first year Coach Bo West, took control early, erupting for nine runs in the bottom half of the first inning.
