Ross West named to Third Region All Tournament Team

Ross West, a sophomore second baseman with the Butler County High School Baseball team, was recently named to the Third Region Tournament team.  The Bears won the 12th District Tournament.  Butler County fell 5-3 to Muhlenberg County in Third Region Tournament play.   


Morgantown/Woodbury Five-Mile Race

Runners of all ages gathered on Monday, May 27 to run a five-mile race from Morgantown to Woodbury. 38 runners and three walkers took part in “The Toughest Race You’ll Ever Love.” Proceeds benefited the Butler County High School and Butler County Middle School track teams, with a total of $1,600 raised for the track program. Registration began at the Charles Black City Park. The race began at South Tyler St. in Morgantown and ended at the camping area of Woodbury Park.


Butler County Bears Varsity Fall Short to Muhlenberg County, 5-3

Butler County Baseball fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored one run for the Bears. After Muhlenberg County scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Butler County answered with two of their own when Duane Daniel singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.


Crimson Tide rolls to gold medal in Jr. Pro Softball

After a rain-filled spring, the Butler County Jr. Pro Softball League wrapped up their season Tuesday night with a single elimination tournament. The Crimson Tide, coached by Kyle Newcom, came into the tournament as the top-seed and left with gold medals. The Crimson Tide racked up an impressive 13-1 record during the regular season. The Crimson Tide defeated the Hilltoppers in the gold medal game.


SOFTBALL: Bears finish season 22-12; fall 5-4 to Grayson in district

Tuesday's game against Grayson County was a heartbreaker for Butler County Bears Varsity, as they fell behind late in a 5-4 defeat. The game was tied at two with Grayson County batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run for Grayson County.

Grayson County opened up scoring in the second inning when an error scored one run for Grayson County.

Butler County evened things up at two in the bottom of the sixth inning when Dixie Garnier hit a solo homer.


Butler County Baseball 12th District Champs

Butler Co. overcomes a 9-0 deficit to get a 10-9 W over Grayson for the 12th District

Butler County  defeated Grayson County 10-9 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at nine with Butler County Bears Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Duane Daniel was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Grayson County scored seven runs in the fourth inning, but the Bears still managed to pull out the victory. 

Eli Lewis earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Butler County. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over three and a third innings, walking zero.


Local footballer headed to Futures Game

A Butler County Middle School student-athlete will soon be headed a football futures game in Louisville.  Devin Poston, age14, is an 8th grade student at Butler County Middle School.


BCHS Basketball "Bear Camp"

Bear Camp will be conducted in sessions again this year. Each session cost $10 and you can choose the desired session or all sessions.  All ages Welcome, Preschool through 1st grade must attend the 9:00-10:30 session only due to the skill level required for the last two sessions.
