TACKLE THE GREEN: "Big One" gets caught as Owensboro man claims $10,000 prize

Brian Huckleberry takes top prize; Joddie McKinney wins $2,500

2024 proved to be the one year that the "big one" didn't get away.  Brian Huckleberry, of Owensboro, found out last night that he had snagged the $10,000 prize catfish from last weekend's Green River Catfish Festival Fishing Tournament.  The prize money was awarded during opening ceremonies on Thursday, July 4.  It was his first time fishing in the tournament and the first time that the "big one" was caught since Dale Flener landed a $50,00o prize catfish in 2008.
