Beech Tree News Network

Nearly 200 terrapins descended on the BCHS Softball field on Thursday morning to participate in the annual Green River Catfish Festival Terrapin.  The races is organized and sponsored by Cassia Lodge #272 F&AM, along with sponsors Jones Funeral Chapel and Monument Company, P31, Henderson Landy Surveying, WarrenRECC, BC Shrine Club, Drakes Farm Service, and Beech Tree News.  

16 individual heat races were held and one grand finale race featuring all the winners.  

Abbott Givens was the overall winner ($35); Hadlee O'Driscoll was runner-up ($25); and Brett Phelps ($20) took third place.  

R.B. Griffin of Bullseye Taxidermy donated trophies for the grand finale race.
