The Butler County Middle School 7th grade Bears traveled to Muhlenberg County on October 2nd and competed in the  Green River Valley Conference Championship against the Mustangs.

BRANDENBURG — After finishing as the 11th District runner-up, Butler County competed in the 3rd Region Boys' Soccer Tournament. 

Ohio County pulled away to defeat Butler County 10-0 in the 3rd Region Boys' Soccer Tournament title match on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Goalkeeper Landon Beatty managed to record 10 saves for Butler County in the region tournament match. 

With the 2024 Bye Week and no game this week, we look back twenty years at the 2004 BCHS Football Bears and what can only be described as still today the biggest football win in the program's history.

             Let's travel back in time and set the stage. Robert Tuck was in his fourth season as BCHS Head football coach. The 2004 Bears entered week #5 undefeated at 4-0, and on Friday, September 17, they faced district foe Owensboro Catholic Aces at home on the campus of BCHS. 

MORGANTOWN — Butler County couldn't limit its opponent as Bethlehem pulled away to win 53-20 in a non-district high school football game on Friday, Oct. 4.

Bethlehem, which competes in Class 1A, District 2, scored first and exited the opening quarter ahead 7-0.

The Eagles led 22-8 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half of the non-district matchup.

FRANKLIN — Butler County was held scoreless as Franklin-Simpson pulled away to win 35-0 in a Class 3A, District 2 game on Friday, Sept. 27. 

With a 20-plus win season and a #1 seed in the tournament, the Butler County Middle School softball team rolled to victory last week in the Green River Valley Conference Tournament.  It was the first conference championship for the school in its third year of conference play.  

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to visit Franklin-Simpson for its first game in the second half of the 2024 high school football regular season on Friday, Sept. 27.
