Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic

The Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic is a two day event, Friday, Dec. 27th and Saturday, Dec. 28th.  Ten (10) Girls teams make up the two day event

The Lady Bears play Friday Dec. 27th @ 11:30am; and then again Friday night @ 5:30pm vs Madisonville Lady Maroons. Then on Saturday, Dec. 28th @ 12:30pm afternoon.

Price pours in 50 points, leads Bears to win over Raiders

 

MORGANTOWN — Senior guard Ty Price poured in 50 points to lead Butler County over Whitesville Trinity 99-56 in a 12th District boys' basketball game on Friday, Dec. 13.

The victory allowed Butler County to sweep Whitesville Trinity on homecoming.

BCMS Boys' Basketball season in full swing

With well over 30 games played between the Butler County Middle School 7th and 8th grade basketball teams, head coach Dustin Barnett is seeing progress and improvement in both squads.  Several games are remaining on the schedule in December and January, as well as the annual Green River Valley Conference Tournament that is set to begin January 25.

The Butler County Middle School girls' basketball team recognized its 8th grade players on Tuesday, December 10.  Both the Lady Bears 7th and 8th grade teams defeated Drakes Creek Middle School.

BCHS is proud of these young men who competed Saturday in the Kentucky Special Olympics State Tournament. Ben Jones 2nd place in class 10, Aiden Johnson 1st place and Kayden Moore 6th place in class 5.

The Butler County School Special Olympics Bowling Team competed in the State Tournment.

Bears top Mustangs 70-63 in Marshall County Hoopfest

BENTON — Winning its season opener on a neutral court, defending 3rd Region boys' basketball champion Butler County topped McCracken County 70-63 in the Marshall County Hoopfest on Saturday, Dec. 7. 

The Bears edged the Mustangs 15-14 in the opening quarter.

However, Butler County and 1st Region member McCracken County were tied 32-32 at halftime. 

Butler County managed to exit the third quarter ahead 54-51. 

Reigning 3rd Region Player of the Year Ty Price poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Butler County to the win.

BCHS trap team wins fall conference title

MORGANTOWN — The Butler County High School trap team captured the 2024 fall conference title.

Seven BCHS student-athletes finished among the Top 10 in season averages for the fall campaign.

The BCHS student-athletes who finished in the Top 10 were as follows: 1. Mason Johnson, Season Average - 24.60; 2. Blake Deweese, Season Average - 24.50; 3. Jackson Kimbler - 24.40; 4. Brennan Smith, Season Average - 24.30; 6. Dalton Hale, Season Average - 23.90; 7. William Bryant, Season Average - 23.60; 9. Carson Cardwell, Season Average - 23.50.
