Flag football signups, draft set for Aug. 21

MORGANTOWN — Additional Butler County flag football signups for students in grades K-2 and a draft of players for teams will be held behind Morgantown Elementary School at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

BCMS Bears off to a strong start as Dragon Bowl champs

Football season has officially started and the Butler County Middle School Bears have set the tone for the year. Both 7th and 8th grade participated in The Dragon Bowl at Warren Central High School on Saturday, August 3rd and both teams were named “Dragon Bowl Champs.” The 7th grade team won 14-6 and the 8th grade team won 8-0.

Griffin earns first offer from CU-Harrodsburg

HARRODSBURG — Butler County senior guard Briar Griffin earned an offer from the Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg men's basketball program on Thursday, Aug. 8.

 

It is Griffin's first offer for the next level.

Lindsey Wilson College visits Butler County for satellite volleyball camp

MORGANTOWN — Former NAIA National Champion Lindsey Wilson College conducted a satellite volleyball camp at Butler County High School in July. Butler County is preparing to compete in the 2024 high school volleyball season. The Bears compiled a 6-26 record in the 2023 prep volleyball campaign.

Bears to host Breckinridge, McLean for first scrimmage

The 2024 BCHS Bears football program will host a controlled scrimmage on Friday, August 9 at 6 p.m. on the BCHS campus.  This will be a tri-scrimmage with Breck Co. HS, and McLean Co., and Butler Co. HS.

BCHS cheer squad excels at UCA Camp

MORGANTOWN— The Butler County High School cheerleading squad excelled at UCA Camp in July.The BCHS cheerleading squad earned first-place in cheer during the UCA Camp.Claiming another trophy, the BCHS cheerleading squad placed second in camp routine.

BCHS Girls Soccer/ Fall 2024 Preview

Butler County High School girls' soccer will be starting with a young team in 2024, after graduating 9 seniors last season, most of whom were starters. Some of the key returning players include Loree Davidson, Kenzie Johnson, Bailey Moore and Jessica Alonzo.

Wild punches out seven, Issac records seventh three-hit game

Bowling Green, Kentucky – Cooper Kinney blasted his 10th home run of the season along with his seventh RBI in three games, helping the Bowling Green Hot Rods (19-10, 55-40) defeat the Winston-Salem Dash (13-17, 44-52) 8-2 on Sunday at Bowling Green Ballpark.

Bears head to Camp Loucon

The Butler County Bears varsity football team will leave for a mini-camp at Camp Loucon, in Grayson County next week.  New Head Coach Joshua Robins and staff and team will make the trip to Camp Loucon and conduct drills on August 1-2-3.
