BCHS Boys Golf in Early Season Preparation for Region

The Butler County Bears Golf Team took to the links last month by participating in the Christian County Invitational at Western Hills in Hopkinsville. “My intentions for our boys is to get them more and more prepared to compete in 18-hole competitions,” Coach Moore explained.

BTN Fall Sports Preview: Butler County Middle School Softball

Butler County Middle School Softball kicked off its 2017 season last week at Franklin-Simpson for a scrimmage and have since played Bowling Green and Logan County in regular season action.  In the "A" game, the Bears fell 7-2 to Franklin, 7-1 to Bowling Green and lost a close a 1-0 decision to Logan.  The middle school "B" game team lost decisions to Franklin and Bowling Green but came back to pick up a 7-3 win at Logan County.

BTN Fall Sports Preview: Butler County High School Girls' Soccer

The Lady Bears start the 2017 season returning twelve of their seventeen players. A small but powerful trio of seniors head the team. Tori Hampton, Kierra Neighbors, and Carlee Mitchell look to lead the Bears into a successful season on their last go around for Butler County Lady Bears soccer. All three are leaders in multiple non-sport activities and hope to translate that leadership onto the soccer pitch.

With the 2017 prep football season just around the corner, the Butler County High School Bears open the season at home against the Logan County Cougars on Friday, August 18th.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Bears have quietly, since January, been building for the regular season.

With the fall sports underway, Beech Tree News will soon be posting fall sports previews and season updates for those sports already underway.  The official start for fall sports, according to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, was July 15.  Sports to be covered include football, soccer, softball, cross country, volleyball and golf.  Other sports will be covered

Outlaws, Franzell finish season with NSA Nationals

The Southern Kentucky Outlaws 8U traveled to Foley, AL for the NSA Southern Nationals Championship the week of July 25-29.  They competed against several strong teams throughout the week, including the number 1 seeded team in Alabama - the HERicanes - for the championship.  Team members were awarded gold rings.

Football Bears Preparing for Scrimmage

The 2017 edition of the BCHS Football Bears continues daily workouts preparing for the upcoming season. The Bears have been busy in the month of July with Passing League workouts at Bowling Green HS, and 7 on 7 Passing League Tournament at South Laurel High School.   These events have provided much-needed reps for the Bears passing game skills and also defending the pass. The Bears to date have played in 7 on 7 Passing events with the following schools: Bowling Green HS, Franklin Simpson HS, Warren Central HS, Madisonville HS, Russellville, HS, Daviess Co. HS, Green Co.
