Gridiron Bears gear up for 2015 season; open Friday at home against Logan

BCHS Bears Football - 2015

The Butler County Bears are hoping to build on a solid 2014 season that featured a 7-4 overall record, a 4-1 district record, and a trip to the Class 2A KHSAA Playoffs where they fell 18-14 to Ballard Memorial.
Butler County will open its 2015 season on Friday night, August 21, at home against border rival Logan County.  The Bears crushed the Cougars 41-0 last year.

B.C.H.S. Football Team Ready to Rumble

Football fans in Butler County got their first look at the 2015 BCHS Bears on Friday night at the first--and possibly last--Northside vs Southside football scrimmage.

The game came about at the behest of the players, according to BCHS Head Coach Ryan Emmick. Emmick said his players had asked for the game for the past few seasons, but uneven rosters had prevented it until this year.

"Our roster is split pretty well between the two sides of the county this year, and the kids have been asking for it, so we decided to give it a shot,"said Emmick.
