Deer season approaching; New areas, new opportunities available to hunters

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 1, 2017) — The morning air is crisp and comfortable. Dew blankets the grass and clings to spider webs that glisten as the sun’s rays find them.

SOCCER: Bears get wins over Hopkins Co. Central, Todd

After a week 1 that showed promise and potential for the 2017 Boys Soccer Bears, two home games were scheduled for week 2.

Tuesday, August 22nd saw the Bears host Hopkins County Central.  Unlike the first week, the Bears got on the scoreboard first with a strong volley from Jose Sanchez, which left the Bears with a 1 - 0 halftime lead.  Basically, both teams played a pretty even half.

Fresh off a win the Butler County Bears girls' soccer team was excited to play against the Todd County Rebels on August 17. This was a varsity only match. Going into the match the Lady Bears were 1-0 on the season and hungry for another hard-fought win.

Logan Co. 42-24 win over Bears

The Butler County Bears fell in the season opener to the Logan Co. Cougars by the score of 42-24. The Bears have an entirely new look this year, with twelve first year starters in the lineup on offense or defense.

The inexperience at the line of scrimmage was the difference in the game. The Bears will make the necessary adjustments in the weeks to come and look to improve.

Week 1: From the sidelines....

The Butler County Bears Football team opened at home on Friday night against the Logan County Cougars.  Injuries plaqued the Bears from the third play of the game as Senior Ty Smith went out with a hamstring injury.  The Bears continued to fight but came up short at the end.  A few Jeremy Hack pictures from the sidelines...

King of the Green Open Bass Tournament

Butler County Bassmasters and Dr. Ryan Jackson of Jackson Chiropractic will be hosting the annual King of the Green Open Bass Tournament on August 26th.  The tournament will take place at the Morgantown boat ramp on Green River.  Butler County Bassmasters and Dr. Jackson wish to shine a light on the outdoor opportunities in the Morgantown/Butler Co. community, and this event was organized to showcase the excellent fishing opportunities on Green River.

BCHS Boys Golf in Early Season Preparation for Region

The Butler County Bears Golf Team took to the links last month by participating in the Christian County Invitational at Western Hills in Hopkinsville. “My intentions for our boys is to get them more and more prepared to compete in 18-hole competitions,” Coach Moore explained.
