With the fall sports underway, Beech Tree News will soon be posting fall sports previews and season updates for those sports already underway.  The official start for fall sports, according to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, was July 15.  Sports to be covered include football, soccer, softball, cross country, volleyball and golf.  Other sports will be covered at a later date throughout the school year.

According to John Embry of Beech Tree News, the preview is made possible through the efforts of the news site's regular advertisers and supporters. 

"We don’t try to hit up our regular advertisers for extra coverage of consistent or seasonal events," said Embry.  "The businesses who support our site all the time are the ones responsible for making our reporting possible and we think they should receive that recognition without additional cost."

The previews and sports reporting that BTN readers will be seeing over the next few days is also due to collaboration with coaches of these programs.

"We try to work closely with the coaches involved in each sport and provide them opportunities to help us promote their respective programs,"  said Embry.  "With a relatively small reporting staff it is difficult for us to cover all sports but we hope to improve that coverage by our partnership with coaches who are leading these programs."
