Fresh off a win the Butler County Bears girls' soccer team was excited to play against the Todd County Rebels on August 17. This was a varsity only match. Going into the match the Lady Bears were 1-0 on the season and hungry for another hard-fought win.

"The game started off fast and physical like it does every time we play Todd County," said Coach Sam Hartford. "Their girls very aggressive and at the same time held decent skill with the ball, but at the same time our girls were ready for the challenge."

The Rebels were held to zero goals until late in the first half. About 15 minutes before the half there was a lightning strike that suspended play for about 30 minutes. Once play resumed, Todd County added one more goal right before the whistle blew for the half. The second half was chocked full of very physical play and in the end Todd County was too much for the Lady Bears.

"There were many great things done by the Lady Bears; they just came up short in the end," said Coach Hartford.
