FRANKFORT - All of Kentucky’s hunter education requirements can now be fulfilled virtually, eliminating the need for in-person instruction. For those unable to complete the necessary requirements before going hunting, the department is now offering its one-year exemption permit at no cost, but only for a limited time.

LEITCHFIELD - The Butler County girls' soccer team showed improvement during its latest match but fell short in a bid to notch its first win. Returning to the win column following a loss, Grayson County beat visiting Butler County 7-2 in a girls' high school soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 24. 

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to host Grayson County for a non-district game in Week 4 of the 2020 high school football season on Friday Oct. 2.

Butler County Middle School honored their 8th grade football players during their last home game on Tuesday.  The Bears defeated Muhlenberg County 36-6 and moved to 4-0 on the season.  They will be hosting the Green River Valley Conference  Championship on Saturday.

LEWISPORT - Butler County fell behind early and couldn't recover from its slow start as host Hancock County pulled away to win 48-8 in a Class 2A, District 2 football game on Friday, Sept. 25.

BROWNSVILLE - Butler County prevailed in a 12th District volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 22, outlasting host Edmonson County 3-2 (15-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-15, 15-8),

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is preparing to visit Hancock County in Week 3 of the 2020 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 25.

LEXINGTON - The KHSAA Board of Control held its second regularly-scheduled meeting of the 2020-21 academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 16, approving practice and competition dates for the winter sports and sport-activities of basketball, bowling, competitive cheer, dance, swimming & diving and wrestling.
