On June 6, 2022 at about 1:35 a.m., officers with the Morgantown Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Chevrolet HHR. During the investigation the driver of the vehicle gave officers consent to search the vehicle. The search yielded multiple bags of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

On June 5, 2022  around 4:35 p.m. Morgantown City Police received a shots fired complaint on Sawmill Road. Dispatch also advised that a window had been shot out of a camping trailer Through the investigation, Tony Phelps, age 54 of Morgantown was arrested for 2 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree and criminal mischief 1st degree.  Assisting on scene was the Butler County Sheriffs Office.

On Thursday, May 19th, four Morgantown police officers graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Law Enforcement Basic Training as a part of Class 527.

On May 30, 2022 Morgantown City Police conducted a Traffic Stop in the intersection of West G.L. St and Logansport Rd. Through the investigation, Jossie M Powell, age 38 of Butler County was arrested and charged with Possession Controlled Substance 1st Deg 1st Off (Drug Unspecified) and Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess. Jossie M Powell was lodged at the Butler County Jail. Assisting on scene was the Butler County Sheriffs Office.

FRANKFORT, KY (May 27, 2022) - With a past career in education, Senator C.B. Embry has been a voracious supporter of teachers, students, and public education as a whole. Education legislation was his primary focus during his tenure in the Kentucky General Assembly.
