MPD: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

On June 6, 2022 at about 1:35 a.m., officers with the Morgantown Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Chevrolet HHR. During the investigation the driver of the vehicle gave officers consent to search the vehicle. The search yielded multiple bags of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

MPD: Shots fired on Sawmill Road

On June 5, 2022  around 4:35 p.m. Morgantown City Police received a shots fired complaint on Sawmill Road. Dispatch also advised that a window had been shot out of a camping trailer Through the investigation, Tony Phelps, age 54 of Morgantown was arrested for 2 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree and criminal mischief 1st degree.  Assisting on scene was the Butler County Sheriffs Office.

May 31, 2022 (Bowling Green, KY) Warren RECC and telecom partner NCTC are proud to announce that they have partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to help defray the cost of installing and maintaining high-speed internet access for Warren RECC members that qualify for the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Through this partnership, Warren RECC and NCTC will add to the benefits of the ACP in the Warren RECC territory by providing $100 credit toward drop and installation costs to eligible members.

MPD Traffic Stop results in drug arrest

On May 30, 2022 Morgantown City Police conducted a Traffic Stop in the intersection of West G.L. St and Logansport Rd. Through the investigation, Jossie M Powell, age 38 of Butler County was arrested and charged with Possession Controlled Substance 1st Deg 1st Off (Drug Unspecified) and Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess. Jossie M Powell was lodged at the Butler County Jail. Assisting on scene was the Butler County Sheriffs Office.

Senator C.B. Embry receives the KEA's Friend of Education Award

FRANKFORT, KY (May 27, 2022) - With a past career in education, Senator C.B. Embry has been a voracious supporter of teachers, students, and public education as a whole. Education legislation was his primary focus during his tenure in the Kentucky General Assembly. Each session, he continuously sponsored legislation that furthered the interests of the school system and those who relied on it.

Following this year’s legislative session, Embry was honored by the Kentucky Education Association with the “Friend of Education” award, the organization’s highest honor.
