LOUISVILLE, KY – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), who serves as the Republican Leader of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, brought together families who have lost loved ones to drug overdose, addiction treatment professionals, law enforcement, and local officials for a roundtable discussion on how to reduce overdose deaths in Kentucky and better help people in the community overcome substance use disorders.

Morgantown, KY – Butler County Water System, Inc. Board of Directors announced the appointment of Jacob Cuarta as the new general manager. He will also serve as the general manager for Warren County Water District and Simpson County Water District. Cuarta, replaces John Dix, who is retiring in June after serving our community for over 30 years.  

The Butler County Extension Council met on Monday, April 25. Four inductees were recognized in the first annual Extension Hall of Fame. Tracy Thornton, Greg Drake II, and Lloyd Saylor shared short biographies of Loretta Moore, Dorothy Basham, Betty Farris, and Gabe Keen.

Butler Water, American Water Works Association and water utilities nationwide will observe Drinking Water Week by recognizing the vital role tap water plays in daily life, the infrastructure that is required to carry it to and from homes and businesses, and the important work of water professionals “behind the scenes”.

Board member Amy Hood-Waddle and Board Member Delbert Johnson were recognized at a Butler County monthly board meeting for their advancement of professional development through the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA) Academy.  Board Member Amy Hood-Waddle has achieved the Level II Certification in KSBA Academy of Studies.  Board Member Delbert Johnson has achieved the Level V advanced training in school leadership.
