Campbellsville University honors 217 teachers in 76 districts and/or private schools, including teachers in Butler County

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s 34th annual Excellence in Teaching Award Program Ceremony was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, 217 teachers received the Excellence in Teaching Award from 76 districts and/or private schools in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Twenty-two of the teachers have Campbellsville College or University degrees and nine teachers are National Certified Teachers.

County Health Rankings continue to show largest shifts in the middle rankings

The chart next to the map shows the spread of health outcomes scores (ranks) for each county (green circles) in Kentucky. It shows the size of the gap between ranked counties, is most cases small.

The latest County Health Rankings report for Kentucky shows little change in the top and bottom quarters of the standings, with most of the bigger shifts among counties in the middle.

Butler County Hosting 2020 UK State Corn Variety Trial

Technicians plant 4 row plots for the Kentucky Corn Variety Trial.  The technician riding the planter is changing corn hybrids on the go by dumping a small amount of seeds as the planter moves down the field.  The tractor is operating on auto-steer to insure even spacing between planter passes.

Each year the University of Kentucky tests corn hybrids that are commercially available and experimental ones to determine how they will perform on Kentucky Farms.  These tests provide an independent set of yield data that allow farmers to pick the hybrids most likely to perform on their own farm.  Each hybrid tested in the UK trial is planted at least 3 times in a randomized location at each test site.  Planting a hybrid multiple times at each site removes, or tries to remove, the effect of where the
