Virtual Concert to raise Organ Donor Registration Awareness on Saturday, October 10, 2020

September 27, 2020 Huntington, WVA – The Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust For Life and their partner, the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, are hosting the first-ever live concert in their ongoing effort to grow the Organ Donor Registry. In addition to the almost 1,000 patients on the waiting list in the Commonwealth, approximately 113,000 men, women, and children across the U.S. are awaiting lifesaving organ, tissue, and eye transplants.

Bowling Green, Ky. – Med Center Health has announced it will match contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, to the recently established Rebecca D. Shadowen Research and Education Fund.  Med Center Health Foundation created the fund to recognize the achievements of Dr. Shadowen during her career as a practicing physician in Southcentral Kentucky and continue growth in the areas of research and education. 

There are currently 7,152 open positions in the 10-county region and 9,347 unemployed. Going out 50 miles from our region, the number of open positions jumps to 57,884.

The Butler County Water District promotes education in the water supply field by offering an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior.  Dustin Johnson of Butler County High School was presented with a $1,000 scholarship to Western Kentucky University for the 2020-2021 academic

The Butler County School District has its first student case of Covid-19. According to a statement released by school officials, a student at North Butler Elementary has tested positive for Covid-19.

September 17, 2020 (Bowling Green, Ky) Today, three Warren RECC crews left Kentucky bound for Baldwin EMC in Summerdale, AL. The crews will help repair damage and restore power in areas hit by Hurricane Sally.
