Celebrating BCHS Students

Recently, Butler County High School along with local support from Morgantown Bank and Trust and Limestone Bank celebrated seniors who met ACT benchmarks in math and reading/writing or all three.  The high school grilled out for the students, MB&T provided supplies for homemade ice cream and sundaes, and Limestone Bank provided brownies.  Students' pictures are also on display in the Common's Area in recognition of their hard work and achievement.

Rochester awarded over 136K to pave all city streets

The City of Rochester is proud to announce they have been awarded funding ($136,281.00) to pave all the city streets in Rochester.

"We would like to thank Governor Beshear and the Kentucky Department of Transportation for giving us the opportunity to apply and receive the discretionary funding. This is quite an accomplishment for the city.  In the last 3 years all the city streets and highways have and/or will be newly paved,"said Mayor Martha Roe.

Paving companies are not able to pave in cold weather, so it will be spring before paving will start.

97% of school districts have tobacco-free policies, including e-cigs

Only five of Kentucky's 172 school districts have not passed a tobacco-free policy to line up with a state law that went into effect July 2020, according to the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.

WARREN RECC CREWS DISPATCHED TO AID IN HURRICANE ZETA RESTORATION

October 29, 2020 (Bowling Green, Ky) Today, two Warren RECC crews left Kentucky bound for Amicalola EMC in Jasper, GA. The crews will help repair damage and restore power in areas hit by Hurricane Zeta. This marks the third hurricane restoration effort in six weeks for Warren RECC crews.

Circuit Court Clerks Help Children In Need of Lifesaving Organ Transplants

October 28, 2020 – Despite the many challenges 2020 has brought to communities across the state, the Kentucky Circuit Clerks’ Trust For Life has continued to grow the Kentucky Organ Donor Registry in an effort to save and heal the lives of those waiting on an organ, tissue, or cornea transplant, including the many children on the waiting list.
