Helen Reid Smith, age 96 of Morgantown, KY passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Helen was born on Sunday, October 4, 1925 in Butler County, KY to the late Robert Gidcumb and Nettie Ayers Jones and wife of the late Dewey Lee Smith Sr. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Butler County High School Graduate. Helen was the book keeper for the family businesses and loved spending time with her family. She was a talented artist and loved to paint.

On Saturday June 11th, between 4 and 5am, Larry held hands with his son on the right, daughter on the left, and his wife to transition from this life surrounded by 6 loving family members, exchanging stories of joy and laughter of his life. Immense joy always lit the life of his family, not only in this life, but at his death.

Carole Lane Bratcher Arnold passed peacefully into eternity with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, June 12, 2022.  She was born in Morgantown, Kentucky on June 18, 1946, the daughter of Judge Andrew Jackson Bratcher and Virginia Deweese Bratcher.

Carole was a High School Home Economics teacher in Butler County and an associate at Ewald Design Associates in Louisville.

George Willis Givens, age 99 of Morgantown, KY passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at his residence. Willis was born on Monday, November 27, 1922 in Butler County, KY to the late Templeton A. and Flossie Ann Cobb Givens and husband of the late Mary Miller Givens. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran and retired farmer. Willis loved working on his farm and taking care of his cattle. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by two sons Marvin and Michael Givens; two sisters Ruth Carroll and Gertie Belcher and three brothers Euva, Herbert Owen and Walter Givens.

Larry E. McKinney, age 76 of Morgantown, KY passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Tristar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Larry was born on Friday, July 13, 1945 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Carlie "Ras" and  Louvell  McKinney. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed sitting on his porch watching wildlife. Larry loved fishing, driving the tractor and 4 wheeler and was a knife and hat collector.

Sandra Ann Bryant, age 71 of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her residence. Sandra was born on Thursday, August 24, 1950 in Gary Indiana to the union of the late John and Norma Hambrick Million. She was a insurance agent for many years and enjoyed going shopping.

Betty Joiner Tucker, age 84 of Morgantown, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her residence. Betty was born on Sunday, December 5, 1937 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Ebben and Edna Cherry Joiner. She was a member of the Morgantown Church of Christ and served as a Butler County School Board member for 12 years. Betty enjoyed fishing, working in her flowers and spending time with her family. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband L.C.

Sharon F. Young, age 75 of Byron, GA passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Sharon was born on Monday, December 30, 1946 in Butler County, KY to the late Tilford G. Flener and wife of the late Sammie Lee Young. She enjoyed reading, playing video games, watching Ice Age and she loved spending time with her family.

Iris Brooks Truelove, age 69 of Morgantown, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her residence. She was born on Sunday, June 15, 1952 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Wilbur Guy and Helen Rubel Barkley Brooks.  Iris attended Crossland Community Church and was an employee of Houchens Industries for several years. She loved reading and spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughters. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years Michael "Mike" Truelove; two brothers Wilbur Guy Brooks Jr.

Dessie L. Turner, age 88, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Spring View Nursing and Rehab Center in Leitchfield, Ky.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on March 13, 1934 to the late Balis Guffy Lacefield and Martha Leora Bryant Lacefield.  Dessie worked at Kane’s and Kellwood and was a housewife. She loved to raise a garden and grow flowers.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ora Eugene Turner; two infant siblings;  three brothers Roy, Rollie and Cleveland Lacefield; sisters Bessie Hogan and Annie McGrew.
