Emmogene Blair Massey, 76, of Clarkson passed away at 6:00 AM Jan. 17, 2014 at her home.

The Adair County native was a retired inspector at Phillip Morris Tobacco Co. She was a daughter of the late James Blair and Gladys Bennett Blair. She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Blair; and a sister, Florence Merker.

Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Temple Hill Baptist Church in Jetson with burial in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-10 PM Sunday, 9 AM-10 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday at the church. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Nelda Louise Riggs, 59, of Caneyville, passed away Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 3rd, 1954 in Fordsville, the daughter of IJ & Lou Cindy (Hayse) White. Nelda was a homemaker and a dog groomer at Shaggy Dog in Leitchfield. She attended the United Methodist Church of Morgantown and was a pianist for 6 years. She enjoyed times at Lake Malone fishing. Most of all, she enjoyed life.   

Wreatha Proffitt, 91, of Caneyville, passed away Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at the Kindred Health Care in Owensboro. She was born May 18th, 1922 in Ohio County to the late Ethel and Alma Maiden.

William Sidney Douglas, 82, of Bowling Green was reunited with his wife in heaven surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 5:34 p.m. at the Medical Center.

Shawnae Grimes 57, of Bowling Green passed away Tuesday January 14, 2014 at her residence at 11:35 am. Shawnae was born December 3, 1956 in Naples, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Christene Cardwell Whitaker and one brother Billy Russ Whitaker.

Glendon E. Johnson, 94 of Logansport, Ky. passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mr. Johnson was born August 8, 1919  in Butler County, to the late Ellie and Carrie Read Johnson .  He was a Retired Conservation Officer, WW II Veteran, Farmer, Kentucky Colonel and a 64 year member of McHenry Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 bothers: Noble, Davis and Edward Johnson; 4 sisters; Marie McKinney, Beulah Nanny, Sadie Nanny and Lucille Green.

Lindel Calvin Embry, 70, of Roundhill passed away at 3:24 AM January 11, 2014 at his home.
The Oakland, Illinois native was a retired truck driver and a member of Community House of Prayer. He was a son of the late Lindel Clyde Embry and Margie Irene Johnson Embry.
Funeral will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in Slate Bank Cemetery. Visitation will be noon-9:00 PM Monday and after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kathleen Ferguson Smith, age 76, was born on, July 24, 1937 in Arnold, KY (Ohio Co.) to the late Ernest Charles and Mamie Kathern Coy Ferguson. She passed away on January 10, 2014 at her home. She has one sister; Charlene Sexton of Louisville, KY, 2 brothers; Carlton Ferguson and Carlis Ferguson both of Horse Branch, KY.

Robert Ray Merritt, 64 of  Dunbar, Kentucky. passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, Tn. Mr. Merritt was born September 18, 1949  in North Carolina, to  Lillie Mae Merritt. Robert and wife Betty was natives of Florida and retired here in Morgantown. He was a 24 year Retired Army Veteran and loved his dog Sassy.  He was preceded in death by his mother.

Robert Ray Merritt is survived by his wife Betty Russell Merritt of Morgantown; stepson Jason Russell of Morgantown; his dog Sassy and many close friends.     

Morgan Bentley "Bo" Phelps II, 18 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday January 9, 2014 at his residence. Bo was born February 10, 1995 in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County High School graduate class of 2013 and attended South Central Ky. Community & Technical College.
