Shawnae Grimes 57, of Bowling Green passed away Tuesday January 14, 2014 at her residence at 11:35 am. Shawnae was born December 3, 1956 in Naples, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Christene Cardwell Whitaker and one brother Billy Russ Whitaker.

     Shawnae was a member of Richardsville Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Worker for over 20 years, and Youth Director at the church. She was a retired clerk at the U. S. Postal Service for over 26 years and was a graduate of Warren East High School in 1974.

     Shawnae was a loving wife of 40 years to Martin, wonderful mother, “Nana” to her precious grandchildren, aunt, and a loving person to all who knew her. We will remember her as a faithful wife, mother and a child of God.

     Survivors include her husband Martin, one son Christopher Grimes (Mandi), and one daughter Sandy Nunley (Mitch) all of Bowling Green, Four special grandchildren Emily and Andrew Grimes, Aden Berisa and Allie Argin Nunley, a niece Lauren Whitaker and several other nieces and nephews of the Grimes family.

     Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, and on Saturday 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery #2.
