Ricky Lee Costello, 48 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Jefferson County native, son of the late Thurman Costello Jr. and Dovie Willis Costello who survives.

Mavis Shultz

Mavis Shultz, 79 passed away at 10:45 am on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY after a brief illness. Mavis was born March 27, 1932 in Morgantown, Ky. to Nicholas M. (Boyd) and Effie Hawks Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Geoffrey, Leslie, McClellan, Sonny and Eugene; in laws Melvin and Ellen Shultz and great grandson Cody Riolo.  On May 26, 1949 Mavis Johnson married Dean M. Shultz who preceded her in death on May 6, 2000. Surviving her are their children Sharon Thompson of Yorktown Heights, NY, Richard D.

Richard D. House, 80 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Morgantown Care and Rehab. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Richard D. House Sr. and Doomie Oller House. Richard was a member of Belmont General Baptist Church, a U. S. Army Veteran and a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by two brothers L.D. and Remon House and one granddaughter Monica Embry.

Curtis White, 48 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Olis C. and Tinsie Jones White. He was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was employeed at Young's Manufacturing as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by one son Ronnie Olis White and one brother Rickie White.

Edwin Earl Henderson, 99 of Sugar Grove, Ky. passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Jess and Ellar Paige Henderson. He was a member of Marrs Hill Church of Christ in Bowling Green, Ky. and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by one brother Roscoe Henderson and one sister Pernie Deel.

Helen Vernell Brown

Helen Vernell Brown,  of Morgantown, Ky. died Friday, November 4, 2011 in Warren County. The Butler County Native was born June 16, 1940. She was a homemaker and Member of Union Baptist Church and the Busy Bee Homemakers. Helen had a love for hand quilting and puzzles. She was the daughter of the late Reno Brown and Lena Mae Tyree.

Funeral Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home. Visitation begins at  2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Thomas Ray Phelps

Thomas Ray Phelps, age 75  of Rockvale, Ky died at his residence on Thursday, November 3, 2011. He was born in Aberdeen, KY on October 16, 1936, the son of the late Roy Lee and Florence Belle Whitaker Phelps. Tom was a very active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher for over 45 years and involved with several church mission trips. He was an Army veteran, serving 3 years of active duty and 7 years in the reserves.
