Gertie Belcher, 96 of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mrs. Belcher was born December 18,1915 in Butler Co., to the late Templeton Alexander Givens & Flossie Ann Cobbs Givens.

Rosalie McIntosh, age 67 of Russellville, KY, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Butler Co., KY on  May 18, 1944 to the late Clifton Johnson and Kathleen Harral Johnson. She was a member of the O’Roark Methodist Church.

Mona Elizabeth Brown Cates

 Mona Elizabeth (Betty) Brown Cates, 86 passed from this life on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the  Morgantown Care & Rehab Center. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Thomas Granville Cates; two children, Elizabeth Ann and Granvil Eugene Cates; in addition to five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Erdine Brown of Ohio and Butler Counties, and by three brothers and four loving sisters, who are joyfully with her now.

Ruth Wilson Annis

Ruth Wilson Annis, 90, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 1:33 p.m. at Greenview Regional Hospital.

She was born in Bowling Green on Feb. 9, 1922, to the late Ed and Mary Lewis Wilson. She was the wife of William Lawrence Annis for 41 years. Mrs. Annis was a member of the Church of Christ, a former employee of Holley Carburetor and Cutler Hammer, and a member of the Warren County Homemakers.

Billy E. Blanton

Billy E. Blanton, 73, of Eastview, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Leslie) Blanton, Tim (Cynthia) Blanton, Jon Blanton and Tony Blanton; a grandson, Corey Blanton and a granddaughter, Jodi Blanton.
Funeral is 12 noon Wednesday at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Clarkson.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martha Spradlin

Martha Hill Spradlin, 96, of Bowling Green, formerly of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the home of her daughter. The Butler County native was a homemaker and co-owner of Butler County Hardware. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown and served as pianist for over 40 years. She was active in the Lioness club and served on the boards of the Butler Co. Historical Society, the Butler County Museum and the Butler County Library.

Pauline Hawks Johnson

The Lord welcomed Pauline on Friday, April 13, 2012. Pauline was loved by all and was a very loving and caring person. Graveside services will be at the Fannie Rone Cemetery in Morgantown, Ky. Services honoring her will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 1:00p.m. at the cemetery. Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown will be handling the services.

Charles Phillip Cook, 50 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Louisville, Ky. native and son of Charles Olson Cook and the late Sue N. James Cook. He attended Morgantown Community Church and was a forklift operator at RJ Corman. Willie Warren "Buck" Drake

Willie Warren "Buck"  Drake, 83 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at his residence. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Elwood and Leitha Belle Brown Drake. Willie was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge and retired from G.E. in Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by one daughter Vanessa Dale Drake; son Terry Steven Drake; great grandchild Austyn Ross and several brothers and sisters.

Vernon Brooks

Vernon Brooks, 59 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Ancil and Dora Mae Burden Brooks. He was a member of Reedyville Lodge #438 and was a drywall hanger and finisher for many years. He was preceded in death by one brother Randall Brooks and one sister Wanda Fay Brooks.
