Michael W. Smith, 56, of  Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Medical Center Hospital, Bowling Green, Ky.  Michael was born January 13, 1958   in Butler County, Ky. to the late Rex Smith and Janice Phelps. He worked at TVA as a laborer. He was a member of  the Local- Union 1392.  Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith.   He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Albert and Clemence Smith and Archie Phelps, one sister Melinda Phelps.
 
Michael W. Smith  is survived by 1 daughter Stacy Smith of Morgantown; 1 brother Timmy Smith of Morgantown;  1 step sister Tina Dawn Butler; 2 step brothers Kevin Lee Smith and Marty Corpuz;  grandmother Irene Phelps of Morgantown;  1 aunt Betty Drake of Morgantown; and a special friend and caretaker Ward Anderson of Morgantown; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Graveside Service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Murl Gray officiating . Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery . Visitation will be  Wednesday , May 14, 2014 from 5:00 -7pm at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
