R.D. "Bumblebee" Cardwell, 76 of Leitchfield, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 11,2014 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Facility in Leitchfield.  Bumblebee was born March 17, 1938 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late William Amos and Laura Coleman Cardwell. He was a retired tree trimmer and other than his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Gertrude West Cardwell  and several brothers and sisters.
R.D. "Bumblebee" Cardwell is survived by his wife Mary E. Harvey Cardwell of Leitchfield, Ky.; two daughters Daisy Bishop and husband Jim of Morgantown, Ky., and Elizabeth Basham and husband James of Hartford, Ky.; five sons Charles West of Morgantown, Ky., Stanley West of Morgantown, Ky., Kenneth West of Lexington, Ky., Tommy Hazelrigg Jr. of Leitchfield, Ky. and Joe Baunach of Leitchfield, Ky.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother James Cardwell of Morgantown, Ky.; four sisters Thelma Sue Woosley of Morgantown, Ky., Nadine Cardwell of Bowling Green, Ky., Justine Cardwell of Bowling Green, Ky. and Myrlene Cox of Morgantown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 1:00pm with Bro. Larry Clark officiating with cremation following.
