Martha Spradlin

Martha Hill Spradlin, 96, of Bowling Green, formerly of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the home of her daughter. The Butler County native was a homemaker and co-owner of Butler County Hardware. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown and served as pianist for over 40 years. She was active in the Lioness club and served on the boards of the Butler Co. Historical Society, the Butler County Museum and the Butler County Library.

Pauline Hawks Johnson

The Lord welcomed Pauline on Friday, April 13, 2012. Pauline was loved by all and was a very loving and caring person. Graveside services will be at the Fannie Rone Cemetery in Morgantown, Ky. Services honoring her will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 1:00p.m. at the cemetery. Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown will be handling the services.

Charles Phillip Cook, 50 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Louisville, Ky. native and son of Charles Olson Cook and the late Sue N. James Cook. He attended Morgantown Community Church and was a forklift operator at RJ Corman. Willie Warren "Buck" Drake

Willie Warren "Buck"  Drake, 83 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at his residence. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Elwood and Leitha Belle Brown Drake. Willie was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge and retired from G.E. in Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by one daughter Vanessa Dale Drake; son Terry Steven Drake; great grandchild Austyn Ross and several brothers and sisters.

Vernon Brooks

Vernon Brooks, 59 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Ancil and Dora Mae Burden Brooks. He was a member of Reedyville Lodge #438 and was a drywall hanger and finisher for many years. He was preceded in death by one brother Randall Brooks and one sister Wanda Fay Brooks.

Roger H. Johnson

Roger H. Johnson, 61 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. He was a Butler County native, son of the late Everett Johnson and Geniva Fields Johnson who survives. He was a farmer and of the General Baptist faith.
Roger H. Johnson is survived by his mother Geniva Fields Johnson of Morgantown, Ky.; sister Frances Childers of Morgantown, Ky; nephews Dennis and Luke Childers both of Morgantown, Ky; great nephews Craig and Travis Childers both of Caneyville, Ky and one great niece Geniva LeAnn Childers of Morgantown, Ky.

Carla Crawford

Carla Crawford, 41 of Morgantown, Kyentucky, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, Ky. She was a Butler County native, daughter of the late Troy Morris Sr. and Lorraine Mitchell Stoots. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by father in- law Elvis Slaughter; mother in- law Wanda Slaughter; half brother John Hutchinson and granddaughter Alyssa Gaddie.

Alan Staples, age 46, of Morgantown passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012, at his residence. The Indiana native was born April 25, 1965. He was an electrician, farmer and a maintenance worker and a member of Monticello Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Freeman and Dorothy Mae Staples.
He is survived by his Wife: Cathy Staples of Morgantown, 2 Daughters: Kayla Staples and Monica Smith both of Morgantown, 1 Son: Paul Staples of Morgantown, 2 grandsons: Kaeden Deweese and Isiah Nicewinter both of Morgantown and 1 Brother: James Staples of Bowling Green.

Roy Evans

Roy C. Evans, 69 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at
Medical Center of Bowling Green. He was a Butler County Native, son of the late Isom Evans and Leley Cardwell Evans. Roy was a Army Veteran and worked at Emerson Engineering for 20 years. He was a mechanic, ran a sawmill and had a love for gardening and fixing things.

Carlis E. McKinney age 74 of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away at his son's residence on Friday, April 6, 2012. He was a Butler Co. native, son of the late Estil and Gertrude Pate McKinney. He was a bridge builder in the construction bussiness and was preceeded in death by one daughter Linda McKinney and one son Carlis Wayne McKinney.
