Costella Embry Phelps

Costella Embry Phelps, 83, of  Hartford, Ky. passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.  Costella was born February 23, 1931 in Butler County, to the late Eclet and Frances Lacefield Embry.  She was a homemaker, also loved tending to her garden and flowers and reading her Bible.  She was a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jimmie D.

Jesse L. Vincent, 52 of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away Friday June 6, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Jesse was born Sunday July 30, 1961 in Jefferson County Kentucky to the late Herbert and Mavis Bratcher Vincent. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter Leanna Vincent and one brother Tony Vincent.

Lonell "Cricket" Duvall

Lonell "Cricket" Duvall, 74 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday June 1, 2014 at her residence. Lonell "Cricket" was born January 20, 1940 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Ezra and Alma Bowers Phelps. She was a member of  The Ladies Auxiliary post 5837, attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church and was a cook at Kuntry Kitchen Restaurant. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her two sisters Mary House and Betty Miller and four brothers Floyd, Jimmy, Pete and Bobby Phelps.

Janice Kay Embry

Janice Kay Embry, 56, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, May 29th, 2014. 

She was born on December 3rd, 1957 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Adrian and Alma (Hack) Embry. She worked for Delta Faucet in Morgantown. She was a member of the Leitchfield Church of God. Janice was called into ministry and was a youth director at various churches throughout her life. She was known for giving free music lessons to MANY people over the years.

Kathleen C. Milam, 74 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Kathleen was born Tuesday August 1, 1939 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Cleat and Goldie Johnson Cardwell. She attended Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter Patricia Milam; one son Vernon Milam Jr. and three brothers J.C., Jim, and Jerry Cardwell.

Irene Fortner, 93 of Gallatin, Tennessee formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday May 25, 2014 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. Irene was born Saturday May 14, 1921 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Palos and Doxie Abbott Proctor and wife of the late Victor Fortner. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her son Wayne Fortner and four brothers Grady Botley Proctor, James G. Proctor, Thomas L. Proctor and Ivan J. Proctor.

Carlton Drake

Carlton E. Drake, 92, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Carlton was born Wednesday November 23, 1921 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Charles "Charlie" Ervin and Jessie Mae Belcher Drake. He was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church, a World War II Navy Veteran, was retired from Warren Rural Electric after 25 years, served on Morgantown Utilities Board and Morgantown Planning and Zoning Board, and was a former commander for the VFW.

Maevell Carroll Grise

Maevell Carroll Grise, 71, of  Rochester, Ky. passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Medical Center.   Maevell was born Jan. 28, 1943  in Butler County, to the late Louis and Louise Kirby Carroll.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed making dolls, baskets, quilts, and restoring antique furniture.  She collected chickens and loved to take care of plants and flowers and her cats.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Grise, brothers Donald Lee Carroll, James Carroll and  twins, Wendell  and Glendel  Carroll and nephew Jimmy Carroll.
