Gayle C. Spurlock

Gayle C. Spurlock, formerly of Princeton, Kentucky, died July 15th at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Trigg County, Kentucky to the late James Spurlock and Rubye Clemens; he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Wayne Spurlock, a son, Mark Spurlock, two grandsons, Jarrod Taylor and James Spurlock. He was a graduate of Butler High School in 1954, Princeton, Kentucky and Murray State. He was a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church. He was in the U.S. Army in the Secret Service (ASA) as today known as the CIA. He was a retired teacher and coach of 38 years.

Hannah Martin Allen

Hannah Martin Allen, 90 of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, Ky. Hannah was born Thursday, January 17, 1924 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Joe Cephus and Savannah Johnson Martin and wife of the late Charles R. Allen. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband four brothers Clyde, Shirley, Orville and Ray Martin; one sister Lora Clay Newton; son in- law Dan Kelly and one great grandchild Charleigh Coots.

David Arthur Larsen

David Arthur Larsen, 78 of Cromwell, Kentucky, formerly of Cleburne, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, Ky. David was born April 6, 1936 in Denver, Colorado to the late William Arthur and Audrey Clayton Larsen. At age 6 his family moved to Ogden, Utah, met his wife and later married on September 14, 1954. He was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, United States Air Force Veteran and retired maintenance supervisor for an aluminum can manufacture.

Hershel Lacefield

Hershel Ray Lacefield, 26, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away July 11,  2014 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Hershel was born Feb 18, 1988  in Hardin County, to   Cecilia Rue Whitaker Kesler and the late Michael Don Lacefield.  He  loved to draw and spend time with his family and friends.   He was preceded in death by his father , brother Mitchell Jay Lacefield, uncle Billy Whitaker and grandparents Charles and Wanda Whitaker, Hershel and Azalee Lacefield.

Carrie Haynes Wilson, 92 of Cromwell, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Monday,, July 7, 2014 at the Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab. Carrie was born January 30, 1922 in Letcher County Kentucky to the late William and Katherine Haynes and wife of the late George William (Bill) Wilson who passed away in February 2007.

Chester E. McKinney, 88 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky Hospice Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Chester was born Friday June 4, 1926 in Herrin Illinois to the late Winnigon and Artie Embry McKinney and husband of 64 years to the late Kathryn Beck McKinney. He was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church, WWII Navy Veteran, retired sheet metal worker and a member of the Local Union #110.

Wavard Cox

Wavard Cox, 71, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Heartford House. He was born October 10, 1942 in Butler County to the late Walter and Iva Johnson Cox. He was a retired bricklayer and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Audley, Odell, Nelson, W.L. and Denzel Cox.

Vernon Henderson

Vernon Henderson, 83, of Owensboro passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on September 16, 1930, in Butler County to the late George and Pansy Flenor Henderson. He was retired as an independent truck driver.

He was a member of the Baptist faith. Vernon enjoyed playing Bingo, attending stock car racing, hanging out with his family and friends at the 8-Ball Restaurant, but most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Linda W. Hampton

Linda W. Hampton, 57, of Bowling Green, passed July 5, 2014, at the Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Hampton was a nurse and is survived by four sons, Scotty (Georgia Tarrence) Carroll of Morgantown, Adam (Sheri) Carroll of Robards, Jay Greer of Bowling Green and Joshua Greer of Nashville; a sister, Sharon Childress; four grandsons; a granddaughter; and a niece and a nephew.
