Wanda June Carr Ferguson, age 85, of Millwood, KY, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. 

She was born on June 30, 1930 in Foster, KY the daughter of the late Charles and Garnette Colbin Carr. She was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. She was a housewife, mother and a homemaker who raised seven children and assisted raising the children of the neighborhood, often called the “neighborhood babysitter”. She was an expert tobacco stripper, and people drove from miles around to buy her strawberries and blackberries.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert Edward Ferguson of Morgantown and Kim Ferguson of Oklahoma; two daughters, JoAnne Tucker of Morgantown and Alma Douglas of Louisville; two brothers, Norman Eugene Carr of Foster, KY and Bobby Gene Carr of Florence, KY; a sister, Helen Sue Mays of Falmouth, KY. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Durman Foster Ferguson, three sons, Foster, Tim and Kenneth Ferguson, two brothers, Charles William and Clifford Lee Carr; and one grandson Bryan Owens.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Steve Slaughter will be officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Home Cemetery.
