Jean F. Hazelip, 81 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Jean was born March 6, 1935, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Garfield and Pernie Hunt Flener and wife of the late Harold Hazelip. She was a member of Fountain Baptist Church, a member of Eastern Star and retired maternity nurse. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one son David Hazelip; one sister Norma Nevitt; two brothers Kinnith and John Flener and one nephew Mark Proctor.

Viola White

Viola White, 94 of Aberdeen, Ky. passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Viola was born July 11, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan to the late George and Viola Stauder Conway and wife of the late Freeman E. White. She was a member of New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Kellwood Company. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one brother William Conway.

Otis Bratcher

Otis Bratcher, 74, formerly of the Antioch Community in Ohio County died on Aug. 4, 2016 at Dawson Springs Health & Rehab.  He was born May 13, 1941, son of the late Willie Otis and Helen Bratcher.

Otis served in the U.S. Army and worked on bridge construction.

Graveside services were held Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Antioch Cemetery.  Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam was in charge of arrangements.

William Lester Childress

William Lester Childress, 62, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.  Mr. Childress was born January 15, 1954  in Butler Co., Ky. to the late Garland Edwin and Dora Catherine Niccum Childress.  He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, shop foreman for M&L Electrical in Bowling Green. Lester enjoyed farming, being a diesel mechanic and flying airplanes. He was  preceded  in death by his parents,  brother Everett "Buddy" Childress and infant brother Raymond Childress.

Bryant Lee Payton, 79, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, July 31st, 2016 at his residence. 

He was born on Thursday, December 24th, 1936 in Grayson County, the son of the late Sammie and Bessie (Fentress) Payton. Bryant was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Bryant Payton Wrecker Service, Salvage Yard and Car Lot.

Olen "Red" Phelps, 90 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at his residence. Red was born on May 31, 1926, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clay and Lula Toms Phelps. He was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ, and he retired from the United Mine Workers. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Joiner Phelps; one sister Grethel Elmore and two brothers Euman and Eulon Phelps.

WILLIAM "BILL" J. FERRELL, 89 of Louisville, passed away, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired GE employee of 31 years, a member of the Highview Volunteer Fire Dept, and a member of Watterson Trail Church of Christ (formerly Bardstown Rd Church of Christ). Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ferrell (McPherson), and siblings, Novie Porter, Dorothy Shelton and Alyne Hunt.
