Lorene Burden

Lorene Burden, 88 of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green,  Ky. Lorene was born April 17, 1928, in Butler County,  Kentucky to the late Shirley and Myrtle Romans Deweese and wife of the late James Burden. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky. and was retired from Fruit of the Loom. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Wallace Deweese.

Dalton Cardwell

Dalton Cardwell, 75, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Dalton was born July 28, 1940, in Butler County, KY to the late John and Willie Ann Cardwell. He was a member of East Fairview General Baptist Church in Horse Branch, KY and retired from IMCO Recycling. He was also a former member of the Butler Co. Rescue Squad. Other than his parents, Dalton, was preceded in death by three brothers; Dalford, Charlie, and Billy and two sisters; Christine and Mary Ruth.

Lt. Col. Rodney Kelbert Givens

Rodney  Kelbert Givens, 86, of Quality, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tn.  He was born in the community of Quality in  Butler Co., Ky. on September 20, 1929, to the late Ross and Eliza Hope Givens. Rodney was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky. Mr. Givens graduated from Morgantown High School in 1948 and from Western Ky. University in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  While in college, he was a member of the Arnold Air Society. Following college graduation,  he entered the U.S.

Teresa Carol Duke Howard

Teresa Carol Duke Howard, 56, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her daughter's residence. She was born in Leitchfield, Ky. on August 21, 1959 to the late Larn and Edna Cockrell Duke.  Teresa was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.  She loved to read, visiting with her grandchildren, writing poetry and taking care of her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, D. C., Dewey and Kenny Duke; four sisters, Hazel Duke, Evon Henderson, Ruth Bratcher and Virginia Ingram.

Dorris "PeeWee" Keown

Dorris "PeeWee" Keown, 80 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky Hospice House in Bowling Green Ky. Dorris was born June 18, 1936, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Denzil and Ollie Johnson Keown. He was a member of Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church where he served as a deacon and worked in the coal mines for many years.  Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Martha Faye "Sissy" Abbott, 72 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Martha was born October 10, 1943, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clifford Pete and Margaret "Mag" Greathouse Neely and wife of the late William Otho Abbott. She was a member of New Midway Baptist Church, avid Nascar Fan and retired from BTR in Russellville, Ky.

Gary "Buck" Miller Goodley Jr.

Gary "Buck" Miller Goodley Jr. 47 of Millwood, Ky. passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, at his residence. Gary was born August 15, 1968, in Louisville, Ky. to the late Gary Miller Goodley Sr. and Phyllis Jean Snodgrass Dockery, who survives. He was a retired mechanic and enjoyed fishing.

Willard C. Miller

Willard C. Miller, 83, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab in Beaver Dam, KY. Willard was born April 26, 1933, to the late Charlie and Floy Findley Miller. He attended Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and he retired from L&N and B&O Railroad. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Veneda Miller, one daughter, Joetta Meredith, three brothers, Bobby, Wesley and Douglas Miller, one sister, Mary Jane Lee and one great-grandchild, Gabbriella Smith.

Loreda Dean Renfrow Hatcher

Loreda Dean Renfrow Hatcher, age 71, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Morgantown Care and Rehab.  She was born on Nov. 2, 1944, to the late Hillary and Gracie Felty Renfrow.  She was a member of Big Muddy Missionary Baptist Church, a homemaker, loved to clean, do crossword puzzles and watch game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jimmy Hatcher; granddaughter Jaclyn Daugherty; grandson Alex Foster; sisters Jean Carroll and Sherlyn Stice.

Ruth Ann Smith

 Ruth Ann Smith, 68, of Bowling Green, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, Bowling Green, Ky. She was born in Bonne Terre, MO. on September 4, 1947, to the late John and Mabel Mockey Ellis. Ruth was a caregiver, attended the United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. She loved painting, gardening, crocheting, and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Ronnie and Kevin Branch, great- grand daughter Heartlynn Grace Ann King and several brothers.
