Ruth Alyce Wolaver Cowan

Ruth Alyce Wolaver Cowan, 92, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center in Morgantown.  She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Oct. 10, 1928 to the late William and Evalyn Evans Wolaver. Ruth was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker.  She liked to travel and read. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill J. Cowan; daughter Cindy Cowan; brothers Billy and David Wolaver; sister Jean Wolaver; daughter in law Johnna Sue Cowan.

Curtis Moore

Curtis Moore, 97, of Sellersburg, In. passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021 at the Maple Manor Christian Home in Indiana. He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Oct. 5, 1923 to the late Vollie and Tempie Fortner Moore.  He was a carpenter and a U.S. Navy and WWII Veteran.  Curtis loved fishing and horse racing.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ervil Inell Jenkins Moore; grandsons Jeremy Moore and Shane Hardin; great granddaughter Amber Cary; several brothers and sisters.

Charles "Chuck" A. Embry

Charles "Chuck" A. Embry, 69, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 after a short illness.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on June 29, 1951 to the late Lucian and Dewey Lorine Turner Embry.  Chuck was a diesel mechanic and truck driver for Morgantown Freight for over 25 years, he worked hard and loved harder.  He was the kind of man who had a smile that lit up any room he was in and was a man of his word.  Chuck would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and two sisters.

Carl Bratcher

Carl Bratcher, 87 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Carl was born December 9, 1933 in Butler County, KY to the late Owen and Vena Beasley Bratcher and husband of the late Iva E. Johnson Bratcher. He was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and owner of Bratcher's Used Cars and Bratcher's Grocery serving their community for over 40 years. Carl worked in the logwoods making handles and railroad ties, he loved music, going to flea markets, trading, gardening, farming and coon hunting.

Artie Mae Burden

Artie Mae Burden, 94 of Morgantown, KY passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her residence. Artie was born September 26, 1926 in the Neafus Community of Grayson County, KY to the late Clem and Leona Bratcher Jones and wife of 47 years to the late Odie Burden. She was of the Baptist Faith and a loving mother and grandmother. Artie worked at Brown Williamson in Louisville, KY for 2 years and retired from the Kellwood Company in Morgantown. She was a foster grandparent for Butler County Head Start for 11 plus years.

Ersley Edward Amos

Ersley Edward Amos, 46 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Ersley was born July 11, 1974 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles L. and Paula Stites Amos who survives. He was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ and formerly employed by the Butler County Board of Education. Ersley loved to read. Other than his father he is preceded in death by a daughter Jimma Lynn Amos; brother-in-law Harold Coots;  father and mother in law Jimmy and Hilda Stapels and brother-in-law Morris Tingley.

Myrl "Maxine" Forsythe Clark

Myrl "Maxine" Forsythe Clark, 91, of Louisville, Ky, went to heaven December 23rd, 2020.

Maxine was a loving wife to Charles Clark (dec.) and spent much of her life caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and created beautiful quilts. Maxine also enjoyed cooking and baking and her family loved all of it, especially what was lovingly known as "Mammaw bread.” She and Charles had many friends with whom they enjoyed spending time camping and fishing. Maxine was an active member of Maple Grove Baptist Church.

Stacy L. Brown

Stacy L. Brown, 50 of Morgantown, KY passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Hospice of Southern KY in Bowling Green, KY. Stacy was born April 25, 1970 in Bowling Green Ky to Thomas Ray and Betty Embry Brown who survives. He attended Morgantown Church of Christ and was employed at Georgia Pacific Corporation in Bowling Green, KY. Stacy loved to hunt and fish but most of all he loved to travel.

Betty Sue Belcher

Betty Sue Belcher, 82 of Morgantown, KY passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Betty was born June 25, 1938 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late LeRoy and Evelyn Abbott Porter. She was a member of Carve Rock Baptist Church and retired from Walmart. Betty loved spending time with her family, swinging on her front porch, working in her flowers and walking. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one grandson Dustin Belcher; three brothers Weldon, C.W. and Roland Porter and one sister Norma Jane Brown.
