Bernice Helen Curtis

Bernice Helen Curtis, longtime resident of Pueblo, CO laid her burdens down October 10, 2018. Born at home in rural Butler County, Kentucky to Fredrick A. and Lanora Belle Cooper Clark, Benice was the 10th of 12 children, one of only 2 girls, on March 13, 1925. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, of 38 years, Allen C. Curtis, granddaughter Tala Jean Curtis and daughter in law Bobbie Annn (Fred) Curtis

Suzie Lee Williams

Suzie Lee Williams, 65, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at her residence.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Oct. 3, 1953 to the late Cloy “Stoker” and Louise Cardwell Lee.  Suzie was a homemaker, retired office manager for Loudon Co. Trucking and tax preparer for Master One Tax Services. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and playing with her dog Sophie.  She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing looking over Lake Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donnie, Ronnie and Phillip Lee and sister Marilyn Clark.

James Michael “Mickey” Wilson

James Michael “Mickey” Wilson, 69, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home. He was born December 8, 1949 in Greenville, Kentucky to the late James E. Wilson and Lucille Sheroan Wilson. Mickey retired from TVA and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

John Randell Phelps, 53, of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  He was born in Fort Knox, Ky. on December 24, 1965 to the late Rufard Lee and Rose Mary Jewell Phelps.  John was retired from Houchens Industries and loved to sew.  He was preceded in death by his parents; four nephews and two nieces; grandmother Bobbie Jean Lay and uncle Stanley William Lay, Jr.

Rodney C. Betts, 89 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. Rodney was born May 25, 1929 in Redonda Beach, California to the late Harold D. and Linnea Lundbrg Betts. He was a member of Cave Mill General Baptist Church and retired California Highway Patrolman. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Dorothy Whitely and three brothers Harold, Ralph and Roger Betts.

Cheryl Embry Shephard

Cheryl Embry Shephard,38 of Morgantown, KY passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Cheryl was born September 25, 1980 to Barry W. and Melissa J. Lindsey Embry. She was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ  and attended Living Faith Baptist Church in Hartford, Kentucky. Cheryl was a Butler County High School graduate class of 1998, Western Kentucky University 2002 graduate and a member of the National Honors Touring Band where she toured Europe and played music.

Claude Givens

Claude Givens, 92, of Beaver Dam, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born on September 27, 1926 in Butler Co., Ky. to the late Jack and Lelia McCoy Givens.  He was a member of Word Missionary Baptist Church.  Claude was a WWII Army Veteran. Claude retired from Inland Steel Co. in East Chicago Indiana.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on March 4, 1930 to the late Lawrence Johnson and Ora Whitten Johnson.

Carmen Richardson, 95, of Morgantown, Ky, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green, Ky. Carmen was born April 24, 1923 in Butler Co., Ky to the late Major and Alta Daugherty Howard. She was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church, Eastern Star and the Poet Society. Carmen retired from General Electric in Owensboro, Ky and was a legal Ombudsman for the state of Ky. She was also a published poet and loved animals and gardening.
