Hello! My name is Josh Belcher and I am the new principal at North Butler Elementary School. I am elated at the opportunity to lead such a great school. Dear Parents,
The opening day for students is just around the corner, and it’s hard to believe that another summer has passed and the beginning of another school year is fast approaching.  Like myself, I’m sure parents, and students are eagerly preparing for the 2014-2015 school year as they begin shopping for those new school clothes, backpacks, and lunchboxes.

Community Cookout at Rochester Park

Friday night July 11, the community of Rochester came together at the Rochester Park for a post-Independence Day cookout.  Events like this are great because you get to see members of the community that you otherwise wouldn’t because of busy schedules.

Eagle Scout Award to Be Presented

Cody Daniel Calhoun

Cody Daniel Calhoun, of 85 Voting House Road, Morgantown, Kentucky, has earned the highest advacement award that the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award.
Cody Calhoun will be recognized in ceremonies on August 1st, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy 79 in Welch's Creek.

The recent, tragic mudslides in Oso, Washington remind us how quickly our environment can change in shocking and devastating ways. Floods and mudslides—generally the result of heavy rain and snow—are very unpredictable, but far from the only natural disaster that puts our pets at great risk.
