BC Opry Raises Over $3,700 for BCHS Marching Band

The Butler County Opry fundraiser was brought back in action on Saturday, August 9 raising money for the Butler County High School Marching Band. Following the success of the previous Opry show for Project Prom, this event is looking to be a positive, new, and stimulating way to bring the community together, exhibit local talent, and raise money for good causes/organizations.

Shepherd and Dotson Wedding Shower

You are invited to a Wedding Shower celebrating the upcoming marriage of Morgan Ashley Shepherd and Thaddeus Allen Dotson.   The shower will be held on Sunday, September 7th at Union Missionary Baptist Church at 2 PM.   Morgan and Thaddeus are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Target.   The church is located on the left approximately 5 miles on Sandy Creek Road, off of Russellville Rd.

Butler County Senior Center

The Butler County Senior Center serves lunch daily and has activities for seniors.  The center is located at 110 Warren Street, Morgantown, Kentucky.  The center is open from 9:00am till 1:00pm weekdays and lunch is served at 10:45am. Butler County Tractor Show

The Butler County Antique Engine and Tractor Club did it again.  Their 8th annual show was a success featuring several tractors from different states, engines, fresh ground corn meal, homemade ice cream and a variety of vendors.  Great food, a parade, and entertainment rounded out a successful show for the club.

Coming Home

Sunday, August 3rd was the 209th homecoming of Monticello Baptist Church.  Congregation member Tommy Franklin introduced the singer for the morning, gospel vocalist Glen Rice.  He peppered his set with standards as well as songs he has written.  He also sang contemporary songs such as Josh Turner’s “Long Black Train” Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and the standard “I Thank God For The Lighthouse”.
