Hello! My name is Josh Belcher and I am the new principal at North Butler Elementary School. I am elated at the opportunity to lead such a great school. I hope that over the approaching school year that I can gain your trust and confidence. It is my goal to develop meaningful relationships with the students, staff, parents and entire community of Butler County, while providing an environment conducive to learning at its highest potential. NBES is a model of excellence for the caring environment that it provides each and every student. I want to continue that culture while lifting it to even greater heights.

Our North Butler faculty and staff are busy preparing for the upcoming school year and our excitement is building to meet the students we will serve. Teachers are actively engaging in professional development, learning new strategies and ideas to help raise student achievement! NBES is blessed with two great custodians who have been busy with maintaining and improving the appearance of our school. They have worked hard and should be commended for the job they do.

We will be having an Open House August 4th from 6:00-8:00 for all returning and new students from grades 1-5. Kindergarten Jump Start will begin one hour prior at 5:00. We hope you can make arrangements to attend on this night to meet face to face with the great teachers and staff of NBES! Developing a strong positive relationship between the home and school environment is very beneficial to a child’s education. I encourage family members to actively support their children's education, as well as the school in decisions that our professionals make; we want what is best for every child. Please read the weekly newsletters from your child's teacher, look at student work in Friday folders, and feel free to participate in Parent-Teacher Organization work. Keep up with weekly events and news with us on the school webpage, Facebook, or Twitter. We will also send out One Call reminders for important events or scheduling changes. Please make good school attendance a priority for your child, and be familiar with policies about attendance and other important issues explained in the school handbook.

We are very fortunate to continue providing health services for students through a partnership between Barren River District Health Department and the Butler County Board of Education. I encourage parents to contact Nurse Lori Raeuchle at North Butler any time they have questions or want assistance with their child's health needs.
