Lifeline will be sponsoring a 5KWalk/Run for Alzheimer Awareness.  The walk will be Saturday, August 23 at 8AM, beginning at Butler County Middle School.  Registration fee will be a $10 tax-deductible donation.  Participants need to pre-register by August 14th to get a T-shirt.  Call or text your name and shirt size to Jenny  270-532-0202 or Stacie 270-991-8580 or call the Lifeline office at 270-526-3495 to pre-register or for any questions.  This walk/run isn’t a “race” but we will have volunteers recording times.  You can also make donations directly to our team at alz.org/walk and search

Ever wondered what a Christian education was like? Come and join us at our Open House, August 1, 2014 at 6:30pm to get an insight on all the opportunities that Oak Ridge Christian Academy has to offer. We will be talking about the many events and opportunities that will be going on throughout the 2014-2015 school year and will also be viewing the school and programs that are offered.

The Butler County High School Band presents the Butler County Opry on August 9th at the Butler County High School Gym.  The BCHS band will perform at 6:45pm with the Opry starting at 7:00pm.  Advance tickets at $7, all chair backs at $8 at the door and bleachers $5.  Call Melissa or Teresa at 270 526-5554 for more information.

BCHS band camp is currently underway at Butler County High School. The 155 member marching band is already practicing for this years routine entitled "Stained Glass". The band practices both inside and outside of the school. During the hottest part of the day, the band is split into sectionals in separate areas of the building to practice independently of the other groups. These sectionals are led by designated members, staff, or band alumni.

On Sunday, July 13, 2014, Morgantown First Baptist Church celebrated Clara Lee Matthews Day.  Clara and her husband, Harold, were international Missionaries from 1957 until 1992.  During these 35 years they served in the Philippines.
    Shortly after the Matthews family arrived in the Philippines, ladies of Morgantown First Baptist Church adopted Matthews as their Mission Family and organized the Clara Lee Missionary Circle.  The Circle has been active for 57 years and is still serving the Lord today.

Friday night the 18th, there was a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Rochester Community Building.  $1,036 was raised for the Rochester Ballpark.  Olive Garden of Bowling Green provided the spaghetti, breadsticks and salad.

Morgantown First Baptist Church will be having a Wedding Shower for Laura Doughty and Billy Wilson. August 3rd, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. at the Gasper River Association Office. They are registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Target. Everyone is invited.
