BCHS honors Senior Cheerleaders and Basketball Players

#23 Miss MacKenzie Coleman. MacKenzie has played basketball for 10 seasons. She is escorted by her parents, Mac and Stephanie Coleman of Woodbury. After graduation, she plans to attend college to pursue a degree in Agribusiness with a focus in Precision Ag. MacKenzie’s favorite memories would be all the ones she can’t say out loud. She will miss being a part of the Lady Bear family. She loves you all.

Butler County High School honored their senior basketball players on Monday night. 

 #21 Mr. Ty Griffin. Ty has played basketball for 2 years. He is escorted by his parents, RB Griffin and Ashley Flint, both of Morgantown. He is undecided of his plans after graduation at this time. Ty is going to miss playing ball with his friends.

 Price powers Bears past Wildcats, 66-63

 

MORGANTOWN — Ty Price poured in a game-high 40 points to lead Butler County past visiting Edmonson County 66-63 in a 12th District boys' basketball matchup on Friday, Feb. 10.

Thriving throughout the game, Price drained 10 of 11 free throws during the final two minutes of the district matchup. 

The win allowed Butler County to claim the number one seed for the 2022-23 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament.

Butler County swimmers excel in KHSAA Region 2 Meet

OWENSBORO — Butler County was well-represented in the KHSAA Region 2 Swim Meet at Owensboro Health Park on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Finishing in eighth place to earn a medal, the 200 free relay team of Briley Webster, Skyler Webster, Kyra Webster and Kinslee Smith paced Butler County in the Region 2 Swim Meet.

Butler County sweeps Grayson County in district doubleheader

LEITCHFIELD — Butler County swept a 12th District basketball doubleheader from rival Grayson County on Friday, Feb. 3.
In a 12th District girls' basketball game, Butler County pulled away to beat Grayson County 53-39.

Butler County's Taylor Smith killed this 13-point buck during modern gun season.

The top five counties by total harvest this past season were Christian, Hardin, Shelby, Breckinridge and Pendleton.
